on torturing children
today is my little nephew's birthday.
i called and he answered.
me: hi mikey, is matt (his brother) there? i called to wish him happy birthday.
mikey: huh?
me: yeah, it's matt's birthday today isn't it? can you go get him and put him on the phone so i can tell him happy birthday?
mikey: it's NOT matt's birthday!
me: it isn't? well shoot, i have a present here for him....
mikey: NO! ! IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!
me: ohhhh...okay! how old are you? 4?
mikey: NO! i'm 6.
me: oh well then, i guess i could give you this present.
mikey: *silence*
hehe. i'm so mean. but it was way more fun than just calling and saying happy birthday.
